About gaspricesbystate.com
gaspricesbystate.com is an independent reference for US regular and on-highway diesel pricing, built and maintained by Oliver Wakefield-Smith at Digital Signet. Every price here is the EIA weekly retail survey, a public-domain federal dataset, and every page says whether the number you are reading is a state figure or the district figure standing in for a state EIA does not survey. The site has no station, refiner, or fuel-card affiliate relationships and accepts no advertising from those sectors.
Why the site exists
Most gas-price sites print a distinct number for all fifty states every day, drawn from a commercial retail feed, without telling you where any single figure came from. This site takes the opposite approach: one public-domain federal source, the series id shown next to the number, a machine-readable download at /data/, a named editor, and an explicit refusal to manufacture a state price the survey does not contain.
Editorial independence
Digital Signet runs a small portfolio of source-cited reference sites. We do not accept payment for placement and we do not run sector affiliate programs (no fuel-card, station, EV-charging, or oil-company offers). Operating costs are funded by other Digital Signet properties.
